Position Overview

Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant - Gynecologic Oncology Department

Our organization, situated in Poughkeepsie, NY, just 75 minutes north of New York City, is in search of a full-time Nurse Practitioner to manage and provide advanced nursing care for patients in gynecologic oncology. This role involves working closely with gynecologic, medical, and radiation oncologists, as well as gynecologic residents, supportive care teams, and nursing staff. The position will also include patient consultations at our outpatient clinic in Kingston, NY.

The Nurse Practitioner will be tasked with implementing care plans for their patient panel, contributing to the realization of the Oncology Division's philosophy and objectives, and participating in performance improvement and research activities.

At least one year of clinical experience related to surgical oncology or other relevant fields is preferred. An Oncology Nursing Certificate is advantageous.

Our organization operates a seven-hospital system and multi-specialty practice that offers tertiary oncology services, accredited by The American College of Surgeons as a Comprehensive Community Cancer Program. We have established many essential components of a comprehensive oncology service line, including a Radiation Oncology team and Surgical Oncology Services in Breast, Thoracic, GI, Gynecologic Oncology, and Urology. Our aim is to transition from a comprehensive local program to a regional destination for cancer care. Recently, we inaugurated a new 696,000 square-foot, seven-level inpatient pavilion featuring 264 private medical/surgical patient rooms and 30 critical care rooms.

Located along the picturesque Hudson River, our facility is a 350-bed tertiary care hospital that provides top-tier acute and critical emergency services in the region. We prioritize delivering the highest quality care and addressing community needs by continually introducing new services and cutting-edge treatments, with established centers of excellence in cardiac services, cancer care, and women and children’s health. Our organization is consistently recognized for having one of the leading cardiac programs in the United States and has been named one of the “Top 100 Heart Hospitals” by Modern HealthCare Magazine.

The Hudson Valley region offers an exceptional quality of life, with opportunities for hiking, biking, boating, and enjoying local cafes, art galleries, and farmers markets. The area boasts excellent housing options and outstanding educational institutions. The Mid-Hudson Valley is home to several prestigious colleges and universities, including Vassar College, Bard College, Marist College, SUNY New Paltz, and the Culinary Institute of America.

Only 75 minutes from New York City, the region provides convenient commuting options via Metro North Railroad and Amtrak. Our vibrant cities and charming villages blend culture, history, and recreation, making it one of the most desirable places to live in the country.

We are a Section 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, and eligible employees may qualify for federal student loan forgiveness under the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program.

Equal Opportunity Employer , including individuals with disabilities and veterans.

Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000, based on experience.
